At Braintree High School, students have noticed that water fountains have been removed from where students and teachers would normally go. This has been happening throughout the year with more and more fountains gradually going missing, leaving many students frustrated.
“It’s stupid. I can never find anywhere to get water,” said student Dylan McDonough.
Principal Keuther admits that the removal of water fountains at Braintree is due to a budget shortage. Braintree Public Schools is unable to afford new working water fountains for Braintree High.
“When the water fountains stop working, we usually just fix them, but eventually it turns into it not being able to be used. So, we remove the fountains. From there we wait for a budget to go up because water fountains aren’t cheap, so we keep them out until we are able to afford them,” explains Principal Keuther.
