A bird flying through Braintree High School on June 11 caught the attention of students and staff as it darted through hallways and stairwells.
“It was a fast little dude with an attitude,” said hall monitor Lauren.
Staff members worked together to contain the bird. Ms. Young, a Spanish teacher, closed fire doors to keep it in the stairwell while Mr. Belmosto, a business teacher, guided it toward an open exit.
“The bird flew up and down the stairwell about ten times,” Mr. Belmosto said. “Eventually, I propped open the door and guided it outside.”
Sara St. Laurent, administrative assistant to the principal, kept staff updated by sending several humorous emails during the incident.
The bird was safely escorted out of the building, ending its unexpected visit and bringing a little excitement to the otherwise never ending dread of a school day.
