On the night of Thursday, February 12th, art teacher Ms. Young hosted the annual Coffee House in room 295 along with the music teacher Mr. Buckley. There was music, coffee, pastries, art, and great vibes.
“Coffee house was created by art and music for a night to have creative freedom, fun, and entertainment. The artists and musicians do not have to follow a script, they have creative freedom. This event allows the community, friends, and family to come together and see what we did,” Ms. Young said.
Keira Carrara and Noah Noun were the emcees. It was Noah’s first time, but it was Keira’s second time. The performances had new and old faces participate. Ivan Petrov returned to the coffee house again this year and sang Harvest Moon by Neil Young. He was also joined by some of his friends: Christina Papa, Denise Segva, and Chandler Iri to name a few.
The audition process was pretty simple. Senior Ivan Petrov said, “The first thing you do is you write an email to Buckley or you get in touch with him personally. You prepare your song and then there’s one specific day (2/6) where everyone auditions all in order.”
