Popular musician Lana Del Rey announced her first solo tour in the US and is headed to Boston’s Fenway Park.
Many fans in the Boston area were very excited to hear this as Lana hasn’t performed in Boston since January 13, 2018, that’s over six years. With Lana Del Rey’s popularity, people from farther distances than Boston also planned to go.
“I’m happy to hear that Lana is coming to perform in Boston, and even more excited that she picked here as the location of her first solo show. It’s a true honor.“ stated a Braintree High junior, Sofi Katerakis
Many fans like Sofi Katerakis have been waiting for years to be able to see her perform. Now seeing this opportunity, it’s their only chance due to the proximity.
Along with the excitement comes fear as many fans have concerns about the tickets’ pricing and whether they are affordable or not.
“There was a presale where fans could have gotten tickets for way cheaper than they are listed now. My mom was planning on going and when she looked at the prices they were tripled than the presale” expressed Natalie Ker.
Presale tickets happened on May 8th at 10 am with a special artist code. The general sale for others was on May 10th at 10 am. Both sold out with rapid speed.
“There’s always tons of bots so you just have to pray you that get in before them”, explained a Braintree High junior, Erin Vaillancourt.
Two ways of buying the tickets were on Ticketmaster and the MLB website. Many people were angered at the Ticketmaster general sale due to bots. This has always been a struggle with the ticket app and continues to be.
With hopes of still attending Lana Del Rey’s concert, fans only have the option to buy tickets from arbitrages with inflated prices.
From these resales, tickets come out to be over double or even tripled the original price for it to be bought, leaving some fans with lost hope of attending.
“I really wanted to see Lana Del Rey but I can’t afford to pay especially since it’s overpriced, it sucks” Kylie Yun added.
