TW: The following review includes the topic of death.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is a book that will never leave your thoughts. Although it is a sad story, the message and the way it is written makes it a beautiful one. This novel offers a new, captivating perspective on what happens to us after we die and whether or not you are a religious person, it is worth reading. The main character, Susie Salmon, who’s life was taken at only 14 years old is forced to watch from above as her family tries to deal with her death and attempt to find the person responsible. The book is a mix of past memories, what occurred to her, and her narrating what she observes below. Throughout this read there is a little bit of everything, from sadness to happiness to anger. It is one of those books that will have you wanting to read non-stop.
