Thursday, April 10th was an exciting event for art students across the town of Braintree. The CATS Academy hosted their eighth annual Convergence Art Show, which featured art from various schools across the town, including Thayer Academy, Braintree High School, and the CATS Academy itself, as well as Milton Academy.
“The art this year is possibly one of the strongest years we’ve had collectively,” said organizer Kent Archer. “I’m not one of the judges, but it was very hard for me to walk around and think of which one would win. This was a very strong year. I’m really proud of all the work.”
The purpose of this event is to let students experience juried art shows, as well as to let them meet other students interested in art around the area. Several students from Braintree High School participated in the event, with junior Janice Wu taking home third place in the overall contest.
“I hope that people enjoy this event and that it continues to build art programs in all of the schools and that it gets students interested and hopefully it makes students really proud of their talents,” said Archer.
