Braintree High School is home to various clubs and communities formed by its student body. One of the more recent additions is the Crochet Club.
“You can go with your friends and work on projects, or you can come learn how to begin crocheting from other members,” says Club Vice President Sydney Ferrick.
The Crochet Club has been active in fundraisers over the years, working with other clubs and selling their handmade items. Just recently, they’ve decided to take the opportunity to sell their items to the BHS community.
“We’ve sold other times before for fundraisers. We’ve never done an ‘online shop’ though, so this is the first time.” explains President Giovanna Pizzi.
The Crochet Club has changed up its ordering process. Instead of buying items in person, people can now place orders digitally through a google form. Buyers can give back to a local community at the high school.
“All funds will go back to the club. It helps us be able to buy better yarn and materials for members. A lot of our materials are pretty old and very overused.” says Crochet Club President Giovanna Pizzi.
This online shop will support the club’s future and allow people to further develop their skills and passion. Through its fundraising, the Crochet Club will grow and its members can work towards a common goal of supporting each other’s passions.
“It’s a very tight-knit community.” explains Crochet Club Vice President Sydney Ferrick.
