The Braintree High Admins recently participated in an event cheerfully titled “Torture an Admin”. Throughout the week, students could donate money to one of three buckets placed in the cafeteria. The teacher with the most-filled bucket at the end of the week was forced to wear a silly costume, and this event’s “winner” was House 2 Headmaster Ms. Moynihan.
Ms. Spaulding, class advisor for the Class of 2026, helped organize the event. This wasn’t the first time this event was held at Braintree High School, though.
“Torture An Admin was actually a recommendation by Mr. Keaney. He has been helping me out with student council stuff and also some of his fundraising ideas, but also it’s something that I believe the Class of 2020 did during COVID times.”
During 2020, the event’s previous winner was Mr. Wakelin, who too was forced to wear a silly costume.
“Mr. Keaney gave me the recommendation that it would be more fun doing it to the admin, just to get a little laugh, because I think doing it to admin… would brighten up the mood of the student population and the school environment.”
Ms. Spaulding hoped that Ms. Moynihan’s victory this year wasn’t going to just be a one-off, though. If the event was popular enough, Ms. Spaulding hoped this event will become an annual tradition.
“This is our first year running it and we’re hoping we’re going to do it again next year… but this was just kind of a test run to see if it would work.”
