On October 25th, A precautionary shelter in place was initiated at Braintree high school due to a bank robbery. This robbery took place around 11 a.m in close proximity to Braintree high school, just across the front entrance at Eastern bank on 703 Granite street.
¨It was pretty crazy, I was at lunch and they just sat us down and kept us there, we didn’t really know what was going on,¨ said Braintree High junior Matthew Erler.
In a timely manner, Braintree Police were able to resolve the situation and take the suspect into custody. As the issue was resolved, the shelter in place was lifted which allowed Braintree high students and staff to go back to moving around the building and contuining their school day with a modified bell schedule.
¨First experience with something like that happening as a new teacher, so it was definitely interesting and I am glad they caught the guy,¨ shared Mr. Adams, first year BHS math teacher.
Braintree High are appreciative of the fast and swift work by the Braintree Police, a quick apprehension of the suspect helped keep the school and town safe and kept in rhythm as the day went on.
