Today in eastern Massachusetts, many students have been delayed by extreme weather. With precipitation of 80% and a wind speed of 24 mph (according to Google), the buses have been delayed. Many students have chosen to take alternative methods to school, such as carpooling or even walking to school.
“I think we’re fine [on attendance],” says Mrs. Kokoros reports, “we’re a little bit behind, getting here on time, but [it’s] New England weather, we should [be alright].” In addition, the school administration has ruled that they will permit tardiness due to the weather. Any student who arrives at school before 7:45 will not be counted as absent or tardy.
“It means I don’t have a tardy on my record, that’s for sure.” says local student Antoine, “I mean, It’s not exactly a bad thing.” In addition, due to the heavy winds, the traffic light was damaged, resulting in school being dismissed 15 minutes early.
