Today around 10:30 am at Braintree High School, an announcement came over the loudspeaker announcing that the cafeteria was closed and that lunch would take place in the gymnasium.
A message on ParentSquare stated there is “a plumbing issue in the cafeteria”, forcing students to retrieve their lunches in the gym lobby and eat on the bleachers of the gym. Our staff reporter, Kate Lee, was in the cafeteria at the time of the incident and said that there was a “rotten smell” permeating the lunch room. While we aren’t certain about the backstory of today’s news, it has been confirmed that the Facilities Department is resolving the issue and that we can expect normalcy to return tomorrow.
